We are looking for an HR and Payroll Officer to join the College. We are a college for young adults with special educational needs with 140+ staff. This is a new post to support our growing college.

The role will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the college’s HR, the College’s Personal Development and Training provision and Payroll Functions. You will work closely with the central Shaw Education Trust Teams and ensure all college-based administration is completed accurately and in a timely manner. You will receive training and support in the role. A full list of the duties of the role can be found in the HR and Payroll Officer Job Description and Personal Specification document.

If you have the skills and experience of development, management and operation of administrative systems needed to support the College’s HR and Payroll functions, and, if you able to learn quickly and able to work in a busy environment completing a range of tasks each day, then this could be the role for you.

Ideally you will have worked in an HR and/or Payroll position, or you will have transferrable skills and knowledge.

You will need to be able to work constructively as part of a team as well as relating well to young people and adults. You will be able to adopt a professional and respectful approach at work which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect. You will be an active listener and able to take responsibility and accountability for tasks you complete. You will be able to maintain accurate and up-to-date records, for example the training completed by each staff member.

You will be positive and able to suggest solutions, be adaptable to change and be someone who embraces change. You will be enthusiastic and decisive, an effective communicator and able to learn from experiences and challenges. You will be committed to continually learning and be a person who wants to seek out new ideas, opportunities and challenges while being open to different ideas and developing new skills.
