Can you drive a minibus? Would you like a rewarding job working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities? Would you like to join a dedicated and supportive team?

We want to appoint minibus drivers to join our College Support Team. As a member of our Support Team, you will work closely with other support staff, teaching assistants and teachers to drive our minibuses transporting young people to college and home and support young people on trips and visits into the community.

Newfriars College is looking for minibus drivers (part-time, permanent and casual hours).

Driving hours required:

  • Monday to Friday 7am-9am (College pick-up)
  • Monday to Friday 14.45-16.45pm (College drop-off)
  • Daily hours between 9am and 2.30pm (College community trips)
  • We can be flexible in agreeing hours with each successful candidate.

Hours are set for the academic year giving you security about how many hours you will work each week.

For example:

  • 32 hours Monday to Friday 7.00 till 9.00 and 14.45 to 16.45 (20 hours) and 12 hours during the day allocated across the week.
  • 10-20 hours before and/or after college pick-up/drop-off only.
  • Casual contract to cover hours on request.

You will be confident about working with (or learning to work with) young people with a range of SEND needs and either have or be willing to learn about best practice in the area.

Salary Grade 3, SCP 10-13 – £22,737 - £23,115 (FTE) – Pay Award Pending

Actual Salary: £11.79 per hour - £11.98 per hour

Hours: Contracts available from 10 – 32.5 hours per week Term Time only (38 weeks)
